What I've Learnt In 2016

I feel like I've learnt a lot in 2016 about myself, others and life in general. I thought I post about what I've learnt this year would be the perfect way to end the year, at least on the blog anyway. Get the deep, reflective part out the way and then we can celebrate, sounds good right?

To do what you're passionate about

I've learnt to do what makes me happy and what I feel passionate about. One of those things is blogging for sure.

Surround yourself with positive people

This is one of the most important things I have learnt. I have formed a great group of friends who I feel I can really be myself around, and I appreciate my family more than ever. I try to make my social media as positive as possible, full of people that I love and am inspired by. I've grown to really be grateful for the people in my life. The more positivity and love you surround yourself with, more good things and people will follow.

Accept things and let them go

This is something I don't usually find very easy, perhaps because I'm a Scorpio and we tend to hold a lot of grudges. But what I've really tried to do this year is accept things and let them go, this can apply to every situation, big or small. Accepting things that have happened or feelings you have and let them go is a way of finding a positive outcome.

To visualise what you want

I'll be taking this with me through 2017 and beyond. When I feel myself lacking any motivation, or if I have any moments of doubt. taking the time to visualise your dreams and goals makes you one step closer to making them come true. If they already exist in my mind, why not try to make them come true?  One you visualise them and start to work for what you're truly seeking, things can only get better.

Confidence grows with time

I've always struggled with self-confidence but I've really learnt that it grows with time. As you get older, your earning your own money, and you're becoming more independent, you're kind of forced to step put of your comfort zone. All the other points in this post have helped my confidence grow. I've still got much more to gain, but I know that it's growing naturally.

To take care of yourself

Mind, body and spirit. This has really helped me with all aspects of my life. The more you take care of yourself, the happier you feel. The list of ways to do it is endless but even the little ways of taking care of yourself like eating healthy, but treating yourself when you deserve it is a really confidence-booster.

What have you learnt this year?

  1. Doing what I'm passionate about without caring what others might think is definitely something I've learnt this year too :) I might still worry about people's opinion sometimes but not as much as I used to anymore x
