2019 New Year's Resolutions

Welcome to part two of the New Year posts. In my last post, 'Goodbye 2018, Hello 2019: Reflections, Highlights and Gratitude', I summed up 2018 with what I'd learnt, what I enjoyed and what I was grateful for. It was a long, tough year for me, so the post started off pretty deep, but it got more uplifting at the end just like the year itself.

Goodbye 2018, Hello 2019: Reflections, Highlights and Gratitude

Goodbye 2018, hello 2019. Boy, it feels good to say that! It feels good to welcome an new year. Although 2018 has had fun times, overall it's been hard for me. My job situation changed quite a lot, my motivation and mental health was all over the place, and my blogging has not been consistent. That's why I was so ready to welcome a new year. A symbol of hope and change.

My Favourite Albums of 2018

We're starting December with one of my favourite annual posts to write - my top albums of the year. There have been six albums that I've really enjoyed this year. Some of them took me completely by surprise, and some are the latest albums by artists I've been a fan of for years. You will also find a good balance of male and female artists on my list, which is awesome. When it comes to music, I really take in the lyrics when I listen, and I've always loved finding out what inspired the artists to create their music, how the creating process works, and what messages the artists want to give to their fans. In other words, I'm a bit of a fangirl! All jokes aside, music has helped me through a lot this year, so I'm more than happy to share the albums that meant the most to me.

Top 10 Little Mix Anthems

As you may have heard, Little Mix are back with their new single 'Woman Like Me' featuring Nicki Minaj. Also, Little Mix's 5th studio album, LM5, is coming on Friday 16th November...two days time! Perrie, Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne have been together for 7 years, and I've been a loyal supporter since their X Factor days. I have so much respect for their talent - their live performances and harmonies are insane - and their positive messages like girl power, confidence, diversity, equality and being yourself. Their songs and journey inspire so many young people on a daily basis, myself included. In fact, I often play their music whilst writing blog posts. To celebrate Little Mix's return, I wanted share 10 of my favourite tracks by them, including hits that everyone knows as well as album tracks that have always stood out to me. To some this post may seem cheesy, but I love music so much. Especially pop music... it's definitely not a 'guilty pleasure' for me! As I'm starting to tweet about music more, I want to feature it on my blog, too.
